South Korean army to receive Boeing's Apache Longbow Crew Trainer

ST. LOUIS. The Republic of Korea army will receive Boeing?s Apache Longbow Crew Trainer for the AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters.
Under contract, Boeing will provide two years of training and maintenance on the system. Officials say, the delivery will complete one portion of South Korea’s $1.6 billion order for 36 Guardian helicopters, training, and logistical support.
The Longbow Crew Trainer will help the Korean army AH-64 aviators to train and sustain aircraft systems, flight and tactical tasks, and increase combat effectiveness, says Randy Nielson, U.S. Army Apache Program Management Office lead for operator training devices.
The system uses the Apache’s flight software, as well as matured flight and avionics simulation models to create a training environment.
