NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. The Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (HX) 21 completed a test flight on a UH-1Y aircraft with a developmental electronic warfare (EW) pod.

According to Navy officials, the EW pod allows for mission requirements to change mid-flight. It is an upcoming tactical capability for the U.S. Marine Corps rotary wing aircraft.

HX-21 supports all Navy and Marine Corps training, operational combat, and combat support missions. They conduct developmental flight tests and evaluations on rotary wing and tilt rotor aircraft, as well as other airborne systems.
