FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz., January 11, 2011 — OpenSystems Media (OSM), LLC today announced its upcoming E-cast, Developing Security-Critical Applications for Multi-Level Secure (MLS) Platforms. In the aerospace and defense industry there is a growing demand to support high levels of security (Common Criteria EAL4 through EAL7) on critical systems while reducing Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP). To address this demand, now there are Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) operating system foundations that enable both Single Level Secure (SLS) and MLS solutions that speed time-to-market and enable the support of multiple security domains on a single silicon platform.

One of the most challenging components of these solutions is the development of secure applications in these platforms. Now there is an open standard, formally defined computer programming language, SPARK designed to support this critical software development process and meet certification requirements of high-security software used in applications and systems where predictable and highly reliable operation is essential. Executive-level personnel, program managers, safety and security architects, engineers, and designers are invited to participate in the E-cast covering the latest developments of securing MLS platforms from industry-leading experts.

The webinar will unveil the power of high-integrity languages and COTS solutions that enable the creation of robust, high-security application software for critical systems.

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz., November 12, 2010 — OpenSystems Media (OSM), LLC today announced its upcoming E-cast on Enabling Telehealth Devices with Embedded Computing, moderated by Don Dingee, editorial director for Embedded Computing Design and OpenSystems Media. Telehealth is the use embedded devices including smartphones or tablets with 3G/4G connections, devices with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, or other wireless networking technology, or larger platforms with Ethernet to help people connect with healthcare providers wherever they may be. With multiple analysts projecting telehealth to grow rapidly into an $8B market in 2012, it is vital to explore the technologies inside telehealth devices and how designers can leverage what is available now into creating the next breakthrough devices.

The setting for a telehealth device can be a clinical environment such as a hospital or doctor’s office, or a home where caregivers are not always present. Expanding care from treatment to prevention is the ultimate goal of these new devices, and an expanding market is creating more possibilities to help people and make a difference.

The E-cast will include experts in embedded computing with an emphasis in telehealth applications as well as a discussion on the overall trends for telehealth devices and eHealth.

Microchip Technology, Inc., GrammaTech, Inc., Center for Advanced Technology Strategy, and Ontario Telemedicine Network will be available for a Q&A session immediately following the E-cast.

• Who: Don Dingee, editorial director for Embedded Computing Design and OpenSystems Media (E-cast Moderator); Steve Kennelly, Senior Manager, Medical Products Group, Microchip Technology, Inc., Paul Anderson, Vice President of Engineering, GrammaTech, Inc., Ron Riesenbach, Vice President, Emerging Business for the Ontario Telemedicine Network; and JP Auffret, Co-Founder and Director of the Center for Advanced Technology Strategy

• What: Industry experts present a live OpenSystems Media E-cast, “Enabling Telehealth Devices with Embedded Computing”

• When: Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at (2:00 p.m. EST/11:00 a.m. PST)

• Where: To attend the E-cast, participants can register at ecast.opensystemsmedia.com/

About OpenSystems Media
