EDMONDS, WASH. (PRWEB) JUNE 27, 2018

wolfSSL, a leading provider of security and connectivity solutions for the sensors and Internet of Things (IoT) markets, has announced the upcoming release of wolfMQTT support for MQTT v5.0, a client implementation of the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol that provides lightweight, portable, and secure publish/subscribe messaging for developers of connected applications. Developed from scratch and written in native C, wolfMQTT has a compiled size of only 3.6 kB and is available for use under commercial or open source (GPLv2) licenses.

By design, MQTT relies solely on the transmission control protocol (TCP) to limit overhead in resource-constrained embedded devices, but offers no provisions for security or encryption. Based on the MQTT v5.0 specification and supporting quality of service (QoS) levels 0-2, wolfMQTT provides SSL/TLS (Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security) encryption through the wolfSSL library, adding as little as 20-30 kB when paired with hardware acceleration to prevent eavesdropping and man-in-the-middle attacks. In addition, techniques like TLS session resumption can further reduce connection costs for sensor devices or other platforms with limited resources.

“wolfSSL is excited about adding our cutting edge TLS 1.3 security to the increased scalability and better support for small clients that MQTT 5.0 provides.” says Todd Ouska, Co-Founder and CTO of wolfSSL. At less than 1200 lines of code, wolfMQTT is extremely portable with minimal external dependencies, making the library easy to compile across multiple platforms. wolfMQTT supports Linux, Windows, OS X, FreeRTOS, and other operating systems, as well as a range of chipsets from leading silicon vendors, including ARM, Analog Devices, Intel, Microchip, NXP, STMicroelectronics, NXP, and Texas Instruments.

“wolfMQTT’s progression to the new 5.0 standard helps developers to lever our security coding and testing standards when using this critical IoT protocol. Our implementation of MQTT has proven quite popular when coupled with wolfSSL."says Larry Stefonic, Co-Founder and CEO of wolfSSL.

The MQTT 5.0 specification makes several improvements to the protocol including:

AUTH packet type to submit authentication after connect.

CONNACK packets now include a reason code to better describe connect failures.

DISCONNECT now supports server to client.

Packets can include optional key/value properties.

New data type for UTF-8 string pairs.

No retry for QoS 1 and 2 packets (let TCP handle retry).

Passwords can be provided without a username.

NI Week 2018, taking place May 21st – May 24th at the Austin Convention Center (ACC), brings together thousands of engineers, scientists, and industry professionals to learn about the NI ecosystem. Event coverage includes test, measurement, IoT, embedded, COTS, and control systems.

Exhibitors at the show are planning their 2018 booth strategies, giveaways, presentations, and new product launches to drive awareness, exposure, and eventually, sales.

Here are a few tips as you prepare for NI Week to drive maximum exposure and return on investment.

1. Time to get social. You can view everything going on at NI Week on Twitter. You can follow them at www.twitter.com/niglobal or follow the hashtag #NIWeek to see what vendors and attendees are talking about. You can also follow www.twitter.com/military_cots or twitter.com/embedded_comp for live coverage of the show as well.

Here are a few tips to make the most impact with your tweets and social posts:

• Always include #NIWeek and if applicable #labview #ATX #IoT @NiGlobal #embedded

• Remember to include applicable images

• Include your booth number

• Announce your giveaways or contests and mention the participants’ and winners’ Twitter handles

• Post photos from the show or integrate live video via Facebook live or periscope; you can also post video blogs to YouTube

• Create your own fun hashtag and encourage attendees to use to use it for free swag

• Feature your social accounts on your booth bags, stickers, and handouts

• Use as many social platforms as you can to post your content (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google+)

• You should post at least 4-5 times per day to stay relevant.

• Follow and network with others using #NIWeek to expand your reach.

• Use Twitter ads and Facebook boosted posted to extend your reach beyond your audience.

• Remember to use YouTube!

• Start posting on social at least one week before the event and one week after the event.

2. Think search engine optimization (SEO). SEO needs to be part of your equation. When we think about the engineer’s journey from gathering information to purchasing, content must be available to validate the engineer’s decision. Everything you do on your own site as well as beyond your site is incorporated into how Google ranks your pages. Thus, having links that point back to your site helps drive your SEO.

3. Keywords are key. Your sales team and field application engineers (FAEs) get lots of questions, complaints, challenges, and specific words that engineers use to search for products and technologies. Use these words in the content you produce and try to create content from an end-user perspective including LabView, Test, Measurement, NIWeek and National Instruments.

4. Blogs and content. Create content that labels you as the expert, but also keep in mind that it should aid your sales team in their sales process. Sales representatives can reference this collateral when courting prospective buyers. Blogging is always available on Embedded Computing Design and Military Embedded Systems at www.mil-embedded.com and www.embedded-computing.com.

5. Submit your news. Make sure not only to post news on your own site and share it on social, but post it on publisher’s sites as well. Some tradeshows share contact information of editors attending the show and have press room’s where press releases and new product announcements can be left. You can always submit press releases to Military Embedded Systems and Embedded Computing Design free of charge at opensystemsmedia.com/submit/news?rid=18957D.922[...]

LONDON and NEW YORK and SHENZHEN, China, May 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- McObject®, developer of the ultra-efficient database system for real-time and historical data analysis, announced today a new version of its eXtremeDB® Financial Edition (for HPC) v.8.0 database management system.

As with all previous versions of eXtremeDB, the new version is designed for speed and efficiency. It offers significant speed improvements, building on the performance of the previous record-setting version, along with a suite of other benefits such as an ultra-fast and flexible market data feed handler.

Steve Graves, CEO and co-founder of McObject, says: “This version of eXtremeDB comes with a number of benefits, and of course delivers excellent performance. Speed has always been of critical importance for the financial markets, so we’re very pleased with the improvements this version delivers. It also offers unprecedented flexibility for HPC (high performance computing) with its wide range of math functions which support in-chip analytics.” He adds: “The fact that it supports SQL and Python, along with a number of other widely-used languages, gives our clients faster time-to-market and reduced costs.”

eXtremeDB Financial Edition (for HPC) v8.0 key new functionality:

Web Services - eXtremeDB 8.0 provides web services through the popular REST protocol. The eXtremeDB REST server can be accessed by any language that supports HTTP and JSON; it also has a GUI dashboard for presentation and direct manipulation of database configuration, content, etc., without the need for programming.

Feed Handler - faster, more efficient ingest of market data and a more efficient process for enabling new feeds (Thomson Reuters and Vela feed handlers are built in).

SQL improvements - better performance of distributed database servers through asynchronous processing of SQL statements. Distributed and standalone databases alike will benefit from SQL optimizer improvements. Time series support has been enhanced to support out-of-order processing of time-series elements.

Security –support for IPv6 for all distributed components. IPv6 supports end-to-end encryption, providing a higher degree of security.

Editorial contacts

Alla Lapidus / Piers Grassmann

Moonlight Media

Email: mcobject@moonlightmedia.co.uk

Tel: +44 (0) 20 7250 4770

About McObject

Dataforth Corporation has added a Discrete Relay Output Module to the powerful MAQ20 system, significantly increasing system capabilities and flexibility for a wide range of industrial applications.

The new MAQ20-DORLY20 module offers 20 isolated SPST latching relay output channels that can switch between 2A at 30V and 0.4A at 150V. Each channel has contact state readback to verify the physical output state. Relays can be controlled individually or in blocks and have user configurable default output states which are set upon power up, power loss, and module reset to ensure failsafe operation.

Other features include advanced output functions, user defined logic polarity, and fast switching times. Field output connections are made through high density spring cage terminal blocks. Reserve power is stored and used for predictable shutdown to user-defined relay states upon loss of module power.

Output-to-bus isolation is a robust 1500Vrms and each individual channel is protected up to 150Vrms continuous overload in case of inadvertent wiring errors. 150Vrms channel-to-channel isolation gives the module the ability to control equipment with or without common signal grounds or different pieces of equipment with multiple reference potentials.

Like all MAQ20 modules, the MAQ20-DORLY20 is designed for installation in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations and has a high level of immunity to environmental noise commonly present in heavy industrial environments.

Find the details on the new MAQ20-DORLY20 as well as updated data on all MAQ20 system modules in the latest MAQ20 Product Catalog, online at www.dataforth.com/catalog/pdf/MAQ20_Catalog.pdf.

The MAQ20 system incorporates more than 30 years of design excellence and quality in the process control industry. NeuPro extends the use of AI beyond machine vision to new edge-based applications including natural language processing, real-time translation, authentication, workflow management, and many other learning-based applications.

NeuPro builds on CEVA's industry-leading position and experience in deep neural networks for computer vision applications. Dozens of customers are already deploying the CEVA-XM4 and CEVA-XM6 vision platforms along with the CDNN neural network software framework in consumer, surveillance and ADAS products. This new family of dedicated AI processors offers a considerable step-up in performance, ranging from 2 Tera Ops Per Second (TOPS) for the entry-level processor to 12.5 TOPS for the most advanced configuration.

The NeuPro processor line extends the use of AI beyond machine vision to new edge-based applications including natural language processing, real-time translation, authentication, workflow management, and many other learning-based applications that make devices smarter and reduce human involvement.

Ilan Yona, vice president and general manager of the Vision Business Unit at CEVA, commented: "It's abundantly clear that AI applications are trending toward processing at the edge, rather than relying on services from the cloud. The computational power required along with the low power constraints for edge processing, calls for specialized processors rather than using CPUs, GPUs or DSPs. We designed the NeuPro processors to reduce the high barriers-to-entry into the AI space in terms of both architecture and software. Our customers now have an optimized and cost-effective standard AI platform that can be utilized for a multitude of AI-based workloads and applications."

The NeuPro architecture is composed of a combination of hardware-based and software-based engines coupled for a complete, scalable and expandable AI solution. Optimizations for power, performance, and area (PPA) are achieved using a precise mix of hardware, software and configurable performance options for each application tier.

The NeuPro family comprises four AI processors offering different levels of parallel processing:

NP500 is the smallest processor, including 512 MAC units and targeting IoT, wearables and cameras

NP1000 includes 1024 MAC units and targets mid-range smartphones, ADAS, industrial applications and AR/VR headsets

NP2000 includes 2048 MAC units and targets high-end smartphones, surveillance, robots and drones

NP4000 includes 4096 MAC units for high-performance edge processing in enterprise surveillance and autonomous driving

Each processor consists of the NeuPro engine and the NeuPro VPU. The NeuPro engine includes the hardwired implementation of neural network layers among which are convolutional, fully-connected, pooling, and activation. The NeuPro VPU is a cost-efficient programmable vector DSP, which handles the CDNN software and provides software-based support for new advances in AI workloads. NeuPro supports both 8-bit and 16-bit neural networks, with an optimized decision made in real time in order to deliver the best tradeoff between precision and performance. The MAC units achieve better than 90% utilization when running, ensuring highly optimized neural network performance. The overall processor design reduces DDR bandwidth substantially, improving power consumption levels for any AI application.

The NeuPro family, coupled with CDNN, CEVA's award winning neural network software framework, provides the ultimate deep learning solution for developers to easily and efficiently generate and port their proprietary neural networks to the processor. CDNN supports the full gamut of layer types and network topologies, enabling fastest time-to-market.

In conjunction with the NeuPro processor line, CEVA will also offer the NeuPro hardware engine as a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) accelerator. When combined with the CEVA-XM4 or CEVA-XM6 vision platforms, this provides a flexible option for customers seeking a single unified platform for imaging, computer vision and neural network workloads.

Availability
